Add a Sidebar to a HTML Newsletter Issue

 

  1. Read the chapter titled “Newsletter/Publication Features in Detail” in the Administration Manual.

 

  1. Create a newsletter issue. See tutorial titled, “Create and Publish a Text Format Email Broadcast Newsletter”

 

  1. Click the Add Sidebar button on the Newsletter Issue Component page.

 

  1. Enter the sidebar headline into the Headline field.

 

  1. Enter the sidebar’s sort order. The number entered into the Sort Order field decides the order of the sidebars within the issue. If items have the same Sort Order number entered then they will be sorted alphabetically.

 

  1. Type content directly into Content page. DO NOT paste copy from internet sites, MS Word document or other applications directly int Content field as they will likely contain invisible scripts an commands that can corrupt your newsletter. Instead, paste such content into Note Pad Text Editor (Text editor located in accessories folder on all Windows computers) then copy from Note Pad and paste into Comment field. Note Pad strips invisible scripts and commands from the content.

 

  1. If you wish to separate side bars into categories (Ex., What’s New, Last Month, New Members, etc) select a category. You may add new categories by typing into the Add New Category field and clicking on the Save button at the bottom of the page. New category will appear in list after page refreshes.

 

  1. Click Save button.
