Using the HTML Editor

 

The HTML Editor is available in many of the Portal Prodigy features and appears as a memo filed with an editor icon on the lower left side of the memo field.

 

  1. Transfer to the editor by clicking on the Edit Icon.

 

  1. Used the Paragraph tool to select a preformatted font, size and other formatting characteristics.  Applies to either the paragraph where the cursor is positioned or to all paragraphs that are highlighted by the cursor.

 

  1. Use the Font tool to select a font for the highlighted block of text or new text inserted at the current cursor position.

 

  1. Use the Size tool to select a font size for the highlighted block of text or new text inserted at the current cursor position. 

 

  1. Click the Bold tool to bold either the highlighted block of text or new text inserted at the current cursor position.

 

  1. Click the Italic tool to italicize either the highlighted block of text or new text inserted at the current cursor position.

 

  1. Click the Underline tool to underline either the highlighted block of text or new text inserted at the current cursor position.

 

  1. Click the Superscript tool to superscript either the highlighted block of text or new text inserted at the current cursor position.

 

  1. Click the Subscript tool to subscript either the highlighted block of text or new text inserted at the current cursor position.

 

  1. Click the Strikethrough tool to place a strikethrough either the highlighted block of text or new text inserted at the current cursor position.

 

  1. Click the Left Justify tool to left justify each paragraph within a highlighted block of text or the paragraph where cursor is positioned.

 

  1. Click the Center Justify tool to center justify each paragraph within a highlighted block of text or the paragraph where cursor is positioned.

 

  1. Click the Right Justify tool to right justify each paragraph within a highlighted block of text or the paragraph where cursor is positioned.

 

  1. Click the Numbered List to sequentially number each paragraph within a highlighted block of text or the paragraph where the cursor is positioned.

 

  1. Click the Bullet List to bullet list each paragraph within a highlighted block of text or the paragraph where the cursor is positioned.

 

  1. Click the Increase Indent tool to increase the margin indentation of each paragraph within a highlighted block of text or the paragraph where the cursor is positioned.

 

  1. Click the Decrease Indent tool to decrease the margin indentation of each paragraph within a highlighted block of text or the paragraph where the cursor is positioned.

 

  1. Click the Cut tool to cut the highlighted block of text and place on the clipboard.

 

  1. Click the Copy tool to copy the highlighted block of text and place on the clipboard.

 

  1. Click the Paste tool to paste the current contents of the clipboard into the document where the cursor is positioned.

 

  1. Click the Undo Typing tool to undo the last action taken or to undo the last contiguous insertion or deletion of text.

 

  1. Click the Redo Typing tool to redo the last action that was undone or to redo the last contiguous insertion or deletion of text that was undone.

 

  1. Click the Font Color tool to change the font color of either the highlighted block of text or change the font color for new text inserted at the current cursor position.

 

  1. Click the Background Color tool to change the background color of either the highlighted block of text or change the background color for new text inserted at the current cursor position.

 

  1. Click the Insert Table tool to insert a table at the current cursor position

 

  1. Click the Insert Image tool to upload and insert an image at the current cursor position

 

  1. Click the Insert Link tool to insert a link to a URL at the current cursor position

 

  1. Click the Insert Rule tool to insert a ruler line at the current cursor position

 

  1. Check the HTML box to view HTML code.  When unchecked the user sees the document as it will be displayed (WYSIWYG).

 

  1. Click Close button on the Edit Document Page.
