Using this tutorial we will show you how to add a component
to your home page main content section.For
the tutorial we will add a Greeting with Image.We will also show you how to make it the first component displayed.As a pre-requisite you must have added your
Greeting text and loaded your Greeting Image on the Home Page Manager
page.
From the Site Administration Menu
select “Home Page” option (4a).
From the Home Page Manager click Edit
button for Main Content Selection as shown below:
From the Main Content Collection
Manager select a component in Available Component tree list.E.g. click on the plus sign for Greeting Image & Title.
The tree list is expanded to display the
available styles for the Greeting
Image & Title component.A
single choice is listed, Style A.
Click on Style A to highlight it.
The Available Record Set displays the
single value Automated for the Greeting Image & Title component.Automated
indicates that it is not necessary to build a record set.When Automated
is listed under Available Record Set it is automatically highlighted.Some components such as Custom Structured and Quick Jump require you to build
your own record sets.Custom Structured record sets are
built using Mini Browser Builder.Quick Jump record sets are built
using Menu Builder; Quick Jump
is one of the many menu types that can be built using PortalProdigy’s Menu
Builder.When the record set is not
automated you are required to select a record set.If none have been built you will need to
use the Add New Record Set option to create one.
With both an Available Component Style
and Available Record Set highlighted, click the right arrow button to add
to the Selected Components list.
The component is listed as a Selected
Component.Click on the GREETIMG:StyleA component to
highlight it as shown below:
Now let’s make it the first component
to be displayed in your Home Page main content section.To do this, click on the up arrow until the GREETIMG:StyleA component is the first item in the list.
Let’s save the changes.Click the Save button located at the bottom of the page.
After the pages refreshes click the
Close button located at the bottom of the
page.This will take you back to
Home Page Manager.
The final step is to update the Home
Page by saving the Home Page Collection.Click the Save button located at the bottom of the Home
Page Manager page.
You may view your changes by clicking the
Preview button located at the bottom of the Home
Page Manager page.This will open
the Home Page in a new browser window.
