Colors are managed using the Color Manager which is accessed
from Site Settings Management or Page Manager.
From Site Settings Management a single color collection can be applied
to the entire website. PortalProdigy
also provides the option to define a unique color collection for individual
pages or groups of pages. Each Template
Style may implement color settings differently.
Some Template Styles contain hard coded colors for some of their
elements. Background colors in areas
with curved borders are typically hard coded.
Each page that uses a Standard Template Style contains a Style Sheet
“Styles.css”. Colors managed via Color
Manager are implemented by the “Styles.css”.
Custom Template Styles are not required to use the “Styles.css”; however
PortalProdigy encourages their use in order to preserver the users’ ability to
manage colors using Color Manager.
Some of the Standard Template Styles for specific Page Types
such as Product Catalog pages use additional style sheets. Product Catalog pages use “Catalog.css”. Product Catalog colors are managed separately
by clicking the Color Scheme button
located at the button of the Product Catalog
Management page. See the Chapter titled
Product Catalog Features in Detail for additional information.
