Secure
with Controlled Access
You
control who accesses what using PortalProdigy’s role based permissions. It’s easy to configure and very
flexible. The Security Group Management
form, shown below, is used to create roles which we call security groups. You can define as many groups/roles as
needed. Groups/roles are automatically
assigned to users when they register or become a member. Each membership type can assign a unique group/role,
allowing you to control permission rights based on the level of
membership. Groups/roles can also be
assigned manually using the Contact Management feature.
Unregistered
visitors to your Website are automatically assigned to a Visitors group, allowing
you to control the unregistered visitor’s access. Access to additional resources can be used as
an inducement to get visitors to register.
PortalProdigy will automatically grant this after completion of the
registration process.
Users
can belong to more than one group.
PortalProdigy automatically determines the highest level of access
amongst the user’s assigned groups/roles and then grants permissions based on
this.
In
addition to setting access permissions for features and processes, PortalProdigy
allows you to set access permissions for individual objects including events,
documents, web pages, categories, directories, etc. E.g. you can limit registration for a
specific event to board members only.
And
to make sure that sensitive data does not get in the wrong hands, we use 128
bit SSL Encryption.
